Riding Lawn Mowers
Gain Mow-mentum

The number of homeowners with riding lawn mowers parked in their garage is growing almost as fast as your grass does in May. For some they’re living out a slightly different verison of Easy Riders. Only instead of bikes it’s riding lawnmowers that are the vehicles of choice.

That right. Sales of riding mowers and garden tractors are enjoying double digit growth and have for the past several years now. More and more of us are opting to ride when cutting the grass for several reasons. We do it either because it's faster, easier, or in some cases just plain more fun than trudging behind a walk behind mower.

Besides when it comes to power equipment, as Tim the ToolMan showed, it is just so much more fun. I mean why else are there riding lawn mower racers if it weren’t fun? And that fun is spilling over to lawns across the country.

For many, sitting behind the wheel of a riding lawn mower is much like driving when they were 16. Always a blast. Plus the drudgery element of mowing the yard has more or less been eliminated by riding lawn mowers. Letting you be the master of your domain perched on the seat of your new ride during your weekly grass cutting ritual. Traversing your yard in style.

For others owning a riding mower is a keeping up with Jones thing all over again. “The neighbor Bill got a new lawn tractor so I have to too.” Alright. Dueling lawnmowers!

While others again would remind you of Tim the Toolman. Who you'll recall had to have the biggest baddest, "bragging rights included" tool whether he needed it or not. Same goes for some with their riding lawn mowers.

Of course throw in more zero turn mower models and you've practically got a riding lawn mowers feeding frenzy on your hands. Some running these mowers claim their neighbors stop and watch in awe as they put their ZTR mower through it's paces each weekend. It doesn't hurt that at 8 miles per hour (or more) you look more like a NASCAR driver than the neighbor cutting their grass.

Still a riding mower isn't for everyone. And they aren't exactly cheap. So you do need to know a thing or two before you lay down at least $1500 for the privilege of riding one. Hopefully you'll agree this site give you some of the answers to questions you've got about riding lawn mowers.
