Why Getting Rid of Moles Should
Top Your Lawn Care To-Do List

Mole Mayhem? Or Are We Making Mountains Out of Mole Hills?

Okay so you've got ground moles.

But is getting rid of moles really such a big deal?

Can't one take a live and let live attitude when it comes to them?

C'mon, does modern lawnology have to include a chapter on how to kill moles in your back yard?

Well not necessarily. As maybe getting rid of moles isn't a big deal to you. But perhaps that seemingly harmless mole invasion SHOULD be given top priority what with the havoc they can wreck in your yard.

AS you know mole activity picks up at the start of each Spring. Sure some would try to spin their frenzied tunneling as nature's way of aerating your lawn - but we both know it's not really. And since a hungry mole eats close to it's body weight each day in worms, grubs and bugs the situation might well get worse before it gets better. Since to find enough food they can easily tear through as much as 100 feet of your lawn a day in search of that "grub".

Yet maybe all that isn't enough to make getting rid of moles important to you. Yet while unsightly and annoying, those runs found at grass root level are nothing compared to the real damage moles can cause.

I mean just think about what might happen from a couple of moles burrowing under your above ground pool. Plastic liners have been known to give way from such frenetic activity. Flooding out more than just the moles. In that case how to kill lawn moles would become vital to life as you know it I'll bet.

Besides, a busy mole working a slope can result in erosion problems that go beyond their runs. Not to mention they have been known to do a real number on retaining walls too.

But wait. There's more. Should they tunnel under paving stones, well in extreme cases you can end up with cracked pavers. Is getting rid of moles growing in importance yet?

And what if your moles decide to go grubbing around some prized shrubbery and air kill some roots? That root loss can, in some cases, result in a weakening of you're the shrub. And it it's bad enough it just might kill it. Not always but it's been known to happen.

Yet maybe those four reasons for getting rid of moles hasn't convinced you that finding out how to kill lawn moles is important. And that's okay. In your case they may truly be little more than a nuisance. But if killing moles IS more important now, maybe you want to find out more on how to go about eliminating them.
