When it Comes to Killing Moles,

As a result many methods of mole control have been developed. But you've got two basic ways to control garden moles. First are what you might call eviction methods. While the rest are clearly in the extermination camp that result in killing moles.
Also don't believe anyone who says you can kill moles with juicy fruit gum. Not likely. Same goes for sticking mothballs, broken glass or human hair in their tunnels. Now will using air-powered whirligigs or some ultrasonic mail order device scare them away. These are not how to kill moles in your back yard.
Given that others "go nuclear" out of frustration. They resort to pouring toxic concoctions like lye, creosote, tar, or setting off smoke bombs down mole hills. These toxic methods are questionable at best. Not to mention some can also contaminate the soil, harm plants and sicken inquisitive pets.
Look. Most agree gimmicks like these are not how to control moles. Especially long term.
Now you will find commercial repellents like castor oil do send the current moles you've got packing. But other moles will move in as the repellent fades. Such a cycle is not necessarily the way to win out over moles either.
Another decent, if indirect, eviction method is to eliminate their good source. Cut down on the grubs and worms, or at least make them harder to find, and moles may move onto greener pastures sooner rather than later. But eliminating worms is not a good way to build the soil in your yard.
So if home remedies don't work. And eviction techniques produce spotty results - what about killing moles?
Some would suggest poison peanuts or other bait is the way to go. Not likely. Moles aren't that easily fooled. They've got to be really hungry to go after lifeless bait. Besides killing moles, poison can kill other animals residing in your yard too.
There is a better, much easier, way to go about killing moles. Traps. To help with that, here's information about how to get rid of moles using traps.
